Copyediting is used to fine-tune your work. Includes writing of a style guide (if one hasn’t been previously created), and two rounds of passes of your manuscript, correcting errors to punctuation, spelling, and grammar. My preferred program to use is MS Word utilizing the track change function on all editing projects. 

Rate: $0.030 per word USD

*I provide a sample edit of up to 1,000 words for each service. It’s a great way to get to know an individual’s writing style and needs.

The final stage in the editing process. Offers an extra pair of eyes on your work to carefully check for any errors and inconsistencies. Crucial part of the editing process that is necessary before sending your work to a publisher. 

Rate: $0.020 per word USD

** Reference manuals used are CMOS, AP Stylebook, Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, New Oxford Style Manual (for UK edits).

When copyediting and proofreading are packaged together, it typically involves a comprehensive review of a written manuscript to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. In essence, by combining copyediting and proofreading, the goal is to deliver a polished, error-free, and coherent manuscript that effectively communicates the intended message while adhering to established style and formatting guidelines.

Rate: $0.045 per word USD

You’ve written the manuscript and did some self-editing, making changes where you felt were needed. Now what? Well, you run it by a beta reader, and that’s where I can help! If you’re not sure what a beta reader does, I will read your manuscript and give you feedback on plot, character development, and overall readability and enjoyment. After a beta read, it’s off to the editing process. 

Rate: $25 per hour USD 

If you have a website, chances are that you have a blog and/or a newsletter to keep your customers informed. If so, I can help you make sure that your copy is free of mistakes to grammar, spelling, and punctuation, ensuring your readers come back again and again! Additionally, if you have social media accounts, I can help proofread your writing before you click that "Post" button. 

Rate: A monthly rate based on word count and frequency of posts to be discussed during inquiry call.
